Bending is a machining process in which sheet metal is often provided with straight deformations (radiuses) or the edges are formed at an angle. This can be done, for example, to reduce the number of parts, to achieve a lighter construction and/or to give the product a more attractive shape.

The base plate for edging is called a blank and if the raw material is not yet in the desired size or shape, it can be cut to size for you by cutting or laser cutting.

The deformation of the blank into the desired shape is done using a press brake. A press brake is a press with an upper die and a lower die.

The sheet to be bent is placed between the upper die and the lower die. The upper die presses the sheet against the lower die, which deforms the sheet. When the upper die has been lowered all the way down and the sheet has been deformed correctly, the upper die is brought up again and brought to the starting position. The lower die always remains in the same position. Depending on the desired processing, different dies can be used. Let me know if you need more information.
